Swim, Swim, Swim

This swimsuit is from a base game mesh. It comes in three versions and is recolorable in one channel. A portion of the first two suits seem to have a spot on the side of the suit that has no color, but that is part of the pattern. The swimsuit is found in swimwear only.

Formal Fun

I always thought this dress had a good design, except for the seam down the front, but EA made it as ugly as possible. I am not knowledgeable enough to get rid of the seam, but I added nicer texture, some trim, and used some Spring 2014 fashion colors to brighten up the dress.

This full-length gown comes in three versions. Three channels are recolorable. It is available in everyday wear, formal wear, and sleepwear. It is a Fast Lane mesh, but I made it base-game compatible ( I hope).

The model is Honey Laree. She is available for download on my 18+ blog at http://wendypanswonderland.blogspot.com/2013/08/honey-laree.html

CSHenrich's Tutorial for Making Custom Content Clothing, Lesson 3

Lesson 3

Here are the pictures for this chapter: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zeqci5yc6ayglor

You have finished your texture, but only part of the project is finished. There are several "maps" which you must make for your creation to be good content and not something that will mess up games.

In this lesson we will create a RGB mask so you can make two parts of the thong recolorable. RGB=Red Green Blue! When you read that an item is recolorable in one or more channels, the creator is referring to the Red, Green, and Blue channels. There is also an Alpha Channel, but it has special properties the others do not have. Btw, the colors are merely the name of the channels and does not refer to the actual colors.

Ok, let's get started! Open your GIMP. Go to "File" then "Open." Browse for your .dds file. NOT the .xcf file or the TSRW file. When you load the .dds file, make sure the box "Load mipmaps" is NOT checked.

Tip: When you export a file, you want to check the Load Mipmaps box. Whenever you import a file, that box should NOT be checked.

Daria Modelle

Daria is a bit different from my usual sim. She is very thin, but that is because she wants to be an acrobat! (She also models to earn the money for her lessons.) She has a lot of game clothing, too, which I don't usually use, but it just seemed appropriate for this sim.

Thanks to inna_lisa for the pose.

CSHenrich's Tutorial for Making Custom Content Clothing--Lesson 2

Lesson 2

Now we want to create our custom texture. If you want to see bigger pictures, go to http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?odtgcd4cjhqt1ad

Open GIMP. Open either your .dds or your .xcs file. Place helplines as shown in the picture below.

For a more fashionable and realistic look, we want to make the sidestraps of the bikini more rounded and placed higher. Add additional helplines as shown.

Next, click on the "Ellipse" tool. It is located to the immediate left of the "Free Select" tool. Use the tool to create an ellipse.

You can create the ellipse by using the settings in the "Tool Options" dialog box, but you will have to estimate the settings. It may be easier to draw the ellipse by hand. (Note that the Tool Options dialog box is shown docked to the bottom of the Toolbox. If for some reason, the Tool Options box disappears, you can find it again by click on "Windows," then "Dockable Dialogs," and then "Tool Options.")

CS Henrich's Tutorial for Making Custom Content Clothing : Introduction and Lesson 1

INTRODUCTION

Hello, dear friends:

Here is a tutorial which explains how to make custom clothing.

What you need:
1. The TSR Workshop. You may download it from TSR.
2. Gimp, version 2.6 or above. You may download at no cost at www.gimp.org/ .
3. The GimpDDS-Plugin. Please follow the instructions in the readme file to install it. Download it at

32bit version: http://gimp-dds.googlecode.com/files/gimp-dds-win32-2.0.9.zip

64bit version: http://www.aljacom.com/~gimp/gimp-dds-2.0.9-64bits.zip

Here is a site where you can get information about the .dds plugin:
http://registry.gimp.org/node/70

4. The Gimp normalmap plugin. Please review the readme file for the installation instructions. You may download this plugin at: http://code.google.com/p/gimp-normalmap/downloads/detail?name=gimp-normalmap-win32-1.2.2.zip&can=2&q=

Once you have installed these applications, we can begin our lesson.

LESSON 1

Note: If you are having difficulty seeing the pictures, I have uploaded copies of them. Here is the link:
http://www.mediafire.com/?c17cobg8bs6a1nd

Open the TSR Workshop. Click on "File", and then click on "New."

Click on "Clothing," then press "Next."

Select "Human." It may take several minutes for the screen to load. Then, scroll down until you see the category: "Young Adult-Female-Swimwear," Click on the icon with the title: "afBottomBrief_boyShorts." Click on "Next."

Type in the name of your project, then press "Next."

Press "OK."

Fashionista Jacket

Here is a jacket to go with the Patched Jeans. It comes in four versions and is recolorable in three channels. It can be found in every day wear, formal wear, career, and outerwear. It is a base game mesh.

As usual, the .zip file contains a .sims3pack file, a .package file, and the above picture.

Patched Jeans

Here are some patched jeans for your fashion-conscious sim. The jeans come in three versions and are recolorable in one channel. They are available in everyday wear, athletic wear and outerwear. They are base game compatible.

The jeans were based on this picture. I had some problems with the ripped texture. It would go into areas that I had already altered, but not into the main texture. I have no idea why that happened, but that is why there are no tears on the right side of the jeans, but there is a small tear in the left knee.

The .zip file contains the jeans in both .sims3pack and .package format. The montage of the jeans is also included.
