Lesson 6
This lesson shows you how to make custom thumbnails for your creation. The pictures for this were originally part of Lesson 4, but you can find that link under the new Lesson 5.
This lesson also tells you how to make your project base game compatible. This information was added by WendyPan, so there are no pictures for this.
To make your thumbnails, take closeup screenshots of each variation of your project.
Use GIMP or some other photoediting program to crop and resize your pictures to 220px x 250px.
Note from WendyPan: If you need to make your project base game compatible, it is best to attach your thumbnails AFTER you have made it base game compatible.

Open your project in the Workshop. Under the "Projects" tab, click on "Extras." It is near the bottom. The third line is "Launcher thumbnail." Click on the empty box in that line. Click on the three dots to the right, and then browse for your thumbnail. I usually use the first variation of the project as the launcher thumbnail. Once you find your thumbnail, click on it. Click "Open" and then your thumbnail will be attached.
Now you want to attach your CAS thumbnails.
Click on your "Textures" tab. Scroll down to PartsHighlighting and click on that. Click in the empty box on the line that says "CAS thumbnail." Browse for your thumbnail that corresponds with that version of the project. Click on "Open" and it will be attached.

Repeat these steps for the other variations of your project.
If you are now ready to upload your project, make sure it has the correct title and export it as a .sims3pack.
If you do not need to make the project base game compatible, then you are finished, and can export the project as a .sims3pack file.
If you need to make your project base game compatible, you will need the Sims3PersonalEditor, also known as the s3pe. You can download it at http://www.den.simlogical.com/denforum/index.php?PHPSESSID=0sla9242flpg9dana4lbseeu73&topic=189.0

Open the s3pe. Drag and drop your file into the screen. Leave the settings alone and click on "Import." When the next window asks you if you want to AutoSave the package, click "No."
The next screen will show a lot of file addresses. The very first entry should be for CASP. Double click on that line. You should get another popup window. Look at the second line, which is Group No. The number probably will look something like "0x7000000." Change the "7" to "0." That is all you need to do!
Save your .package file with a new name, the final name you will use. It is best at this point to begin with a new TSRW WRK file.
Open the TSRW. Click on "File," "New." On the next screen, select "New Import," and the click on "Next." When the next screen comes up, browse for your final .package file. Open it and then click "Next."
When you get the next window, check the project name and title. It should be the same as the name of your .package file. If it isn't, type the correct name in the spaces. Click "Next." Click "OK" on the next screen.
Now, attach your thumbnails as explained above. Once you have finished, you can export your project as a .sims3pack and upload it!
Congratulations on your finished project!
If you have any further questions or comments, feel free to post them here or under the other lessons.
